Seahorse Swim School Swim Lessons
Please arrive five minutes prior to your scheduled start time. Participants should be dressed ready to enter the pool in tight fitting swimsuits that are well secured. Sun/rash guards can be worn but must be tight fitting and short-sleeved. Goggles are encouraged but will be asked to be removed at certain levels for certain skills to make sure your child can function and be water- safe without goggles on.
Parents, you are encouraged to bring something to sit upon and be prepared to sit away from the edge of the pool. The Site Supervisor will call all the kids over on day 1 of each session and assign them to their instructor. They will then go with their instructor to their assigned location in the pool. After day 1, instructors will call for their students to meet them at their assigned location.
None of the following should be worn in the pool at any time:
wetsuits, pockets, long sleeves, full leg, floaties, footwear or standard clothing.
Hair that falls longer than the student’s earlobe should be securely fastened behind the head or tucked in a swim cap to avoid becoming a visual, breathing or movement hindrance.
It is better to come late than not come at all, as long as, you arrive during your lesson time your swimmer will be welcomed to join the class.
If you know you need your swimmer out early, please notify the Site Supervisor and they will go and retrieve your student from class to minimize interruptions and distractions.
If a student needs to use the restroom during a lesson. The instructor will advise the swimmer to climb out and walk to the parent/ guardian they arrived with to be escorted to the restroom facilities. They can return to class as soon as they are done if the class is still in session.
If your student is a bit under the weather, they are still welcome to attend. If the child has Flu and/or Covid symptoms: chronic cough, fever, chills, nausea, and/or diarrhea, the child must stay home. You can contact us to schedule a make-up if the child gets well during the session. Even if the child misses multiple days, only one make-up lesson is allowed per session, and must be during the session. You are not guaranteed to get your child’s original instructor, or original instruction time for make-up lessons.
If the student is missing more than one day consecutively, please contact the office and let us know so we can communicate that information to the Site Supervisor and instructor.
If you are going to miss the first day of lessons, please let us know so we know you are not a ‘no-show’ for your session.
If your plans have changed, and you know you are not going to make an entire session you have registered for, please let us know ASAP so we can contact members on the waitlist who may be needing that spot. Thank you!
